Below is a quote from Jason Lester’s Facebook page in regards to the Xray picture-
“On mile 89.5 of Day 52 a plastic bag blew into my front wheel causing my wheel to stop. It sent me over the handle bars and onto the pavement. The impact of the fall broke my clavicle.”
If you don’t know who Jason Lester is read this post I made about him earlier.
When I first read this post, I thought his cross country journey was over. He took one rest day, and then he was right back at it. He ran 16 miles on his 54th day (the picture on the bottom is after his run) and rode 60 on his 55th. These are not the numbers he has been posting, but they are impressive none the less. If you haven’t noticed, his clavicle is broken on the left side of his body. The reason that this is significant is because Jason only has one functioning arm; his left one. That means that almost all of his weight is resting on an arm that is supported in part by a broken bone. I’m sending my prayers Jason’s way and I know that he’ll be able to complete the rest of his journey.
I think there’s one thing we can all agree on: Jason Lester isn’t going to let anything stand in his way.
